EW Arcade

Before you play

Frequently asked questions

Is it free?

Yes. The study guides and games are free to use. You do not need a paid account.

Do I need an account?

No. Guests can play. An optional email-and-password account syncs game progress across devices.

How does progress save?

Games save progress automatically in your browser’s localStorage. When signed in, the site also syncs supported saves to your account. Clearing browser data can remove guest saves; another browser or device does not have that local copy.

Why do missed questions come back?

The games revisit missed facts sooner so you can practice recalling them again. Check the explanation and try to understand why the answer is right, rather than memorizing a button position.

Is my progress shared between games?

No. Each game starts fresh and keeps its own progress. Physics versions also save separately from networking versions.

How does online play work?

Crosstalk supports online duels and Iron Relay supports online co-op, including their physics versions. One player creates a room and shares its code; the other joins from a second computer using the same game version. Both computers need an internet connection. Other games do not have this online-room feature.

Can I use it on my phone?

You can read the guides and open the arcade on a phone. Playability depends on the game and its controls; games that need a keyboard or two players on one keyboard are best played on a computer.

What do the study guides cover?

They cover 14 Networking & Cellular modules and 14 Physics & RF modules, with acronyms and key facts. Try answering before revealing each answer, then practice the subject in a game.

Is this official?

No. EW Arcade is an independent student-built educational website. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the U.S. Army or Department of Defense.

How do I report a wrong answer?

Use the contact page and choose “Wrong answer in a question.” Include the game or guide, the question, the current answer and a reliable reference if you have one.
